ABOUT US

MLW Associates focuses on deploying top-notch professional training sessions that meet your organization's needs. Each training utilizes adult learning theories and principles like multi-modal delivery of content, hands on exercises, experiential case studies, and self-directed principles.  Applying adult learning theory to organizational training sessions has been proven to result in longer retention of the content delivered. 

Mary Lou Woodford, President and Owner of MLW Associates, is from Southbough, Massachusetts. Since 1980, she has provided education and training in both healthcare and business environments. As a clinical nurse, nurse manager, public health administrator, nurse executive, and nonprofit leader, she has developed and implemented programs impacting all levels of the healthcare and business world. Bridging the gaps between healthcare and business has become a passion and expertise for Mary Lou. Ms Woodford received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Connecticut and her Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts. She is a Certified Case Manager certified through the Commission on Case Management (CCMC). 

 

In her previous role as the Director of Women's Health at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, she was instrumental in the development, implementation and evaluation of the community health worker patient navigator training. As a vehicle to assist with healthcare reform, this training supported case managers in their role to help underserved and diverse populations access the most appropriate care possible in the cost efficient and effective manner. Mary Lou continues to consult with state agencies and community based organizations in support of a collaborative approach to implement healthcare reform in the most efficient manner. 

 

As an instructor of community health, public health policy and population health at the Northeastern School of Health Care Management, Mary Lou works with students in a variety of settings, helping to shape their future careers as healthcare systems change the landscape of our healthcare across the country. 

Mary Lou has observed, researched and learned the dynamics of proper training. Providing education and training for your workforce will foster an educated and experienced staff that will be empowered to meet the ever-changing goals of today's businesses.
